Non-blinded randomised controlled trial.

    • The Study Patients: Adults with lower leg fractures requiring extensive soft tssue and/or vascular repair (Gustillo class 3B and 3C fractures).

    • Experimental group: As above plus HBOT – dose not reported
    • The Evidence:

None reported.

    • Comments:

1. Reasons for cancellation given were slower than expected recruitment rate and difficulty engaging orthopaedic team owing to pre-existing belief that HBO was efficacious. 2.No report of any outcome from the 17 enrolled patients.
