Evidence link: to evidence-based review of many HBOT indications | (MD thesis of Mike Bennett)
Latest CATSNew evidence that HBO is effective for radiation cystitis (Oscarsson 2019), sudden hearing loss (Hu 2020) and maybe spinal injury (at least at altitude - Sun 2017)
Some evidence that re-implantation of permanent teeth is more successful with HBOT (Chen 2000)
Pooled analysis suggests there is (1) some justification for further studies into the use of HBOT for PTSD after mild head trauma (Hart 2019) and (2) a low rate of adverse effects in either arm (Churchill 2019).
Some further weak evidence that fibromyalgia may improve with HBOT (Izquierdo 2020).
60 treatments was associated with some signs of cognitive improvement but not with 3 months of doing nothing! (Haddany 2020).Papers awaiting appraisal: A list of published RCTs we have not got around to yet (take that as an invitation!).
