For sudden hearing loss, the addition of hyperbaric oxygen at both daily and twice-daily schedules to 20 total treatments resulted in improved outcomes compared to standard treatment alone.

Clinical bottom line:

1. There was a greater improvement in the proportion of patients with an effective response in the hyperbaric groups.
2. The mean improvement in hearing loss thresholds was greater with hyperbaric.
